Jo-Anne Perrett
Senior Principal and Director
Jo is a Senior Principal Geotechnical Engineer and EDG Director with 25 years of experience in geotechnical and multi-disciplinary investigations and design for a wide range of infrastructure projects. Jo is a Chartered Professional Engineer and a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland. Jo graduated from QUT in 1999 and has worked in geotechnical consulting in both Australia and Canada. Jo is experienced in planning and execution of geotechnical investigations using a variety of techniques, carrying out various levels of design, preparation of design drawings, specifications and tender documentation, and providing review during construction.
Jo has specific expertise in:
- Dam and levee engineering and design.
- Geotechnical investigation and site characterisation.
- Shallow and deep foundation design.
- Soft ground and ground improvement.
- Slope stability.
Notable projects that Jo has been involved with include:
- Technical lead for the provision of geotechnical advice for the design of Exit 45 at Ormeau.
- Project lead for the provision of geotechnical investigations, analysis and advice in relation to several tailings storage facilities in Queensland.
- Brisbane International Cruise Terminal, Port of Brisbane where Jo directed geotechnical work for the BICT project from late 2018 through to end 2019.
- Port West, Port of Brisbane, where Jo carried out the technical direction for surcharge design and monitoring for portions of the Port West development.
- Burdekin Falls Dam where Jo was involved in the geotechnical investigations, scope of work statements and risk management workshops relating to dam safety.
- Rossendale Dam Christchurch, NZ where Jo was involved with the assessment of liquefaction, consolidation settlement, foundation design, and treatment of dispersive soils.
