Geotechnical-Site-Investigation

Geotechnical site investigation

EDG has the in-house skills and capability to offer a complete scope of site investigations for all manner of projects. Each site investigation programme will be developed considering our client’s requirements to provide the necessary information to develop an Engineering Geological Model for the project, which considers the engineering requirements for the project in context with the ground conditions. All fieldwork is carried out under the direction of our engineers or geologists who are experienced in mapping and trained in logging to AS1726:2017 by Ian Shipway, who was on the committee for the development of the Australian Standard. Through the Australian Geomechanics Society, Ian is regularly involved in the delivery of training courses for Soil and Rock Logging to the geotechnical industry Australia wide. Our client’s data is managed through the industry standard software GINT.

Where necessary, we engage external specialist services providers to supplement our in-house resources. This includes services such as geospatial imagery, laboratory testing, downhole imaging and environmental assessment.

Our staff have relevant specialist experience in nominating and interpreting laboratory testing information to allow our clients to get the most from their investment. Ian is a NATA assessor for geotechnical laboratory testing and spent a number of years early in his career as laboratory technician, undertaking and overseeing sophisticated testing.
