205 North Quay is a 38-storey commercial building accommodating 43,700 sqm of net Office space. The building has three basement levels and is located near Brisbane River within the Central Business District. EDG carried out a staged geotechnical investigation for Hutchinson Builders comprising cored boreholes for the foundations building to enable the design of the basement retention and foundations. We developed an engineering geological model for the site and defined geotechnical design parameters. We provided assistance to the structural engineers and the piling contractors during design and construction of the retaining walls and foundations of the building and carried out a detailed settlement analysis of the foundation system. We also carried out site visits for verification of foundation conditions during construction.
